My name is Yuyuan, and I am from Singapore. I majored in Japanese Studies and I had also studied for a year at Kyushu University in 2007, which was when I developed my affection towards Kyushu, including Kagoshima. Having worked in international relations for 8 years, and living in a multicultural society like Singapore has allowed me to recognize the importance of good language and communication skills in an ever-globalizing society, and I look forward to sharing all these experiences with everyone at Veritas!
Halloween Week has officially started today. It`s finally on!
You have until Friday, November 2nd, to come on in and have some fun with Gorilla 先生。
We are going to play a lot of fun halloween games.
And of course there are quite a few treats waiting for you.
I’m looking forward to playing and having fun with you!
Last week I was in Osaka for three days on a business trip. Osaka offers a great variety of street foods, such as takoyaki, skewers, dumplings, etc. Takoyaki is hands down my favourite.
I had also the opportunity to visit Osaka castle, which is quite impressive. I loved running around the moat that sourrounds the castle. It is one of the best running courses I’ve ever tried.
Lastly, I took a stroll in Dotonburi. I was really impressed by its bright and busy streets and hidden back alleys.
It`s been a while since my last post, hope all is fine.
Last Monday I went to Kagoshima Prefectural Museum of Culture Reimeikan.
The museum displays a great number of cultural and historical documents, as well as work of art, fine articrafts, japanese swords (i.e. katana), old-time living tools and many others historical remains and models rapresenting different time periods (from the prehistoric days to early modern time).
Visitors can learn a lot about Kagoshima and its culture. It allows you to see the beauty of Kagoshima and how its arts and history have been developed.
If you haven`t had the chance to visit this museum, I`d higly recommend to check it out when you have some free time. I promise you won`t regret it.
Two weeks ago I went to Yufuin, in Oita. As I was walking down the main street there, I crossed a lovely Neko cafe and I decided to check it out. All the cats there were super cute and fluffy. They were all Norwegian forest cats. This breed of cat is originally from Norway, in Northern Europe. It’s very big and strong, with a top coat of glossy, long, water-shedding hairs and a woolly undercoat for insulation.
